GENERAL POLICIES 2007-2008

 

ATTENDANCE:  Students are expected to attend all of their scheduled classes.  Regular attendance is vital for proper training.  Students will not be accepted into class 15 minutes after the class has begun.

 

DRESS CODE:  Ladies' leotard color varies per division.  Feet enclosed tights and ballet shoes are pink.  Long hair must be combed into a classical bun;  short hair must be pulled away from the face with a headband or clips.  No shirts, skirts or legwarmers are allowed.  Gentlemen must wear black tights.  Ballet shoes, t-shirts and socks are white. Jazz Dress Code: Jazz oxford shoes are required.  No bare legs above the knees. Long hair must be pulled back. Students must adhere to their divisional code.

 

PLACEMENT FEE:  There is a $20.00 placement fee for new students (non-refundable) of which $10.00 is applied to the first month's tuition and $10.00 dollars is applied to the enrollment fee.

 

TUITION:   There is a $10.00 enrollment fee due with each registration.  Tuition is billed and paid on a monthly basis.  It represents a series of equal payments on a semester's total tuition.  Tuition is due in full on the 1st of each month.  Tuition is late if received after the 9th of the month.  A $20.00 late charge will be added to your statement on the 10th of the month for each month that your tuition is delinquent.  We do not deduct for the classes you may miss, nor do we pro-rate tuition for any reason.  Students enrolled in ballet classes in the school are eligible for a 10% discount on Jazz tuition.  If your child is unable to attend a class, please notify the office.

 

VISITING WEEK: Visiting Week will be held in November and April.  At this time we invite all parents, family members and friends to observe classes while in session.  We also invite anyone who may be interested in starting classes at Ballet Oklahoma.

 

COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS: Each student, enrolled at the School of Ballet Oklahoma receives 1 complimentary ticket to the October, February and April performances, which may be obtained at the Ballet Oklahoma Office by identifying the student’s name to the Ticket Office Manager or Ballet Representative. All seats are assigned by and at the discretion of the Ticket Office as orders are received.

 

STUDENT PICK-UP:  Students must wait for their rides inside the building.  Students must be picked-up promptly following classes or rehearsals.  To ensure promptness, after the first five minutes following the dismissal of class or rehearsal, there will be a $2.00 fee for each additional five minute period or part thereof.  We appreciate your cooperation in this area.

 

PARKING:  We realize how limited parking is during peak times; however, we have received complaints from the Oklahoma City Police Department with regard to illegally parked cars.  Please do not park in the median on Classen or within 20 feet of any intersection.

 

SCHOOL CLOSURE:  During periods of severe weather, the school closes with the Oklahoma City Public School System. .

 

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES: Only Pre-professional students, enrolled on a monthly tuition basis in the School of Ballet Oklahoma, are eligible to audition for roles in the professional productions.
